Collaborated with the NewsHour and the National Science Foundation to develop toolkits for media outlets on the best ways to create science content for wide audiences (digital and broadcast). Build stories for multiple platforms, including Facebook/Facebook Live, Snapchat, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, web, broadcast, and others. Stories included a multi-part series on science in the Olympics, the evolution of humans from a single reptilian ancestor, and videography of coral on the ocean floor. Covered non-science breaking news events, like managing the live blog and feeds for the Republican and Democratic National Conventions, as well as live social media reporting from the White House on Election Day.

WHYY The Pulse

Produced articles and radio segments about science and health topics for public radio’s science program The Pulse. Worked with a 10-person team to nationalize the show. Stories include a feature on job training programs for people with developmental disabilities, profiles on area leaders in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), and an examination of innovative green roofs. Optimized the press kit for all content by The Pulse, in particular for promotion on social media platforms.

Managed a team of 26 graduate and undergraduate researchers in the care of endangered and extinct-in-the-wild species in five biodiversity laboratories.
